This is a fairly challenging save with Aston Villa, where some fundamental mistakes are made with a 442. While there is a time and a place to use defensive width as a weapon we also need to recognize when it can be an issue. And, that will depend entirely on the roles and duties on the pitch.

I go through 3 matches with the first being the most relevant showing the transitions that I spotted, by the time we hit the 3rd game we are playing well.
This is an interesting save, as I share my thought processes with you from the very moment I begin the save. This is purely about transitions and things I picked up in the match. In the accompanying In the Hotseat show I play through all 3 games and focus on what needs to be done.
