Ello mates, wow holy molie my God pa was that TGA amazing. So many awesome games shown and reveals I lost my noodle a few times after Armored Core I couldn't breathr I was so hype. However after watching multiple reactions I notice a trend. Do people who YouTube about videogames even like videogames? So much snark and attitude about the show the presenters the award speeches the winners of the awards. Half my mind is understanding, we're passionate folks or have opinions, fair. The more animated half of me is like stfu and appreciate how awesome our industry can be. 2023 I believe will be our best gaming year ever. So much to look forward to. We should be celebrating or atleast neutral. What's the deal with the low key haterade? Are youtubers too jaded? I'm not an overly optimistic person but wow was the cynicism at a 10 last night for a great great show.

2022-12-09 09:26:15 +0000 UTCHowdy! Congrats on being a part of this year's Game Awards Jury! Speaking of the awards, how do you feel about GoW and Elden Ring being separated into 'Action/Adventure' and 'RPG' categories? I would say both pretty cleanly overlap the same genre conventions. GoW (like most modern triple-A games) has RPG-style skill trees while Elden Ring has a traditional 'Action/Adventure' open-world (Ocarina of Time) style presentation, etc. Speaking of Zelda, if Elden Ring is considered an RPG, then shouldn't games like BoTW also get thrown in too? After all, you can chose to "level" different "stats" as you gain "XP." You even get to craft items and customize your build/loadout like in Elden Ring. Do you guys think the category should be used to give traditional (and often more niche) hardline c/w/jrpgs a chance to shine or are you okay with the current system as it is? I personally would prefer the former. After all, virtually all modern triple-A games feature a ton of RPG mechanics that blur the line between "genre RPG" and including basic systems just to be market-viable in 2022. Looking at this years nominations, games like Live A Live and Xenoblade Chronicles 3 never stood a chance...and I think that's sort of a shame for an event that's supposed to celebrate a wide array of gaming genres/cultures. I understand drawing that line cleanly is hard, but what do ya'll think?

2022-12-09 09:18:47 +0000 UTCWeird/disappointing that Xbox is suppose to be having a big 2023 yet outside of generic game pass commercials they were basically a no show at TGA
2022-12-09 09:10:13 +0000 UTCHey MinnMax. Do I recall correctly that recently on the podcast there was some confusion over what a hurdy gurdy is? Well, during the game awards when they performed Blood Upon The Snow from GoW Ragnarok, Bear McCreary was playing a hurdy gurdy on stage. You were caught up with the "who's Hozier" conversation at the time π

2022-12-09 04:08:34 +0000 UTCI have a nomination for the Greatest Work of Art, 2022 Edition. It is a scene from Episode 2 of the FX/Hulu show "The Old Man", specifically, the dinner scene between Jeff Bridges and Amy Brenneman that takes place from ~34:00-40:00. As a person of a certain age I found the scene to be a wonderful introspection into how we view events in our lives - and our role in those events - and how that view can change. Not sure how the scene plays in a vacuum, but I found the scene to be both relatable and poignant and it was perfectly placed within the framework of building the characters early in the season. PS. Season 1 as a whole is solid, not great. It starts quite strong and then durdles around in it's last 1/3. I will watch Season 2 with the hopes that the writers find the voice that they had at the beginning of Season 1.

2022-12-08 18:46:26 +0000 UTCHello there! Day one listener, first time patreon supporter! Love what yβall do. The holidays are usually such a positive time of the year. But Iβm feeling like a lil stinker. Lets get negative! -Whats the worst game you played this year? It didnβt have to come out this year, you just have to have played it this year. -Whats the worst soundtrack you heard all year? -Worst Movie? Now that we got all that negativity out, hope you all have a lovely positive holiday season.

2022-12-08 15:02:51 +0000 UTCHey Crew! Iβve been playing God of War 2018 after watching all the Deepest Dives on the new game, and really enjoying it. Iβm wondering if any of you will indulge in spoiling a game from time to time or if Iβm just a little crazy? Follow-up for the bold, if you do spoil - has it helped or hindered your experience of the game following that. I watched all the cutscenes for Death Standing and recently having played it through without cutscenes itβs was great and so much lighter than it would have been otherwise.
2022-12-08 13:24:26 +0000 UTCHey everyone! I have been addicted to marvel snap and itβs one of my first online experience with internet people (Iβm not a multiplayer kinda person ) and 1/3 of the battle I end up winning because the people quit before they loose the game. Whatβs up with that? I thought in 2022 we had an Γ©tiquette that it was a super bad thing to do. Are people still that much sore loser? Over a silly game ? Help me understand please

2022-12-07 22:33:25 +0000 UTCHey CLCs, What game do you think has benefitted the most from streaming, YouTube Letβs Playβs, etc.? I am sure Fortnite and Imposters will be brought up here, but I think the best answer might actually be Minecraft? Excited to listen to your thoughts, thanks and let me be the first to say HAPPY HOLIDAYβs MINNMAX!
